Alexander McQueen

I kind of miss the truly inspiring designs from Alexander McQueen. His shows were awesome. Especially because his fashion showed true art in it, and it was always very original, creative and a bit provocative too. When I think of extraordinary fashion I immediately think of his S/S 2010 show, in which this shoes were shown. I never get them out of my mind!

See through

I thought see-through could look a bit slutty, but I kind of fell in love with this see through shirt!

Young Hollywood on Nylon Cover May

Ashley Greene (Twilight Saga), Vanessa Hudges (High School Musical, Sucker Punch) and Portia Double Day (Youth in Revolt) are on this month's cover of Nylon magazine. Prviously the Youn Hollywood cover's have included stars such as Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, megan Fox and Ellen Page. The stars represent a new talented and fresh generation of hollywood stars. They all have personal style and class. Some quates from the interview are listed below;

Ashley Greene, on Paparazzi: “Yeah, I know their cars. But there’s always people sitting outside my house. I put my own security system in my apartment because you have to worry about people getting a little too obsessed.”
Portia Doubleday, on life after Youth in Revolt: "I always knew this is what I'd be doing, I just didn't know I'd be doing it so soon!"

Vanessa Hudgens, on her new film Sucker Punch: “At one point, we all play hookers. And there are burlesque shows! I do a belly dance in the most amazing belly-dance costume you have ever seen in your life... Watch me in Sucker Punch, and you’ll be afraid of me."

Ashley Greene, on the new Young Hollywood: “We’re not all crazy! … I feel like that whole generation, that’s dying down now, thinks they’re higher than God and can do whatever they want. [Young Hollywood] now are people who really love the business

Dutch Model: Mirte Maas

As I was watching all the great designer fashion shows on Iphone's application Style.com from Vogue I noticed the name of Dutch model coming through quite often. Not only did she walk shows of some great names such as Sonia Rykiel, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Dior and almost every other great show of fall/winter 10/11, she als opened and closed names such as Alexander wang and Balenciaga which is a big honour. Now starring in the new spring/summer 2010 Balenciaga campaign together with Holland's Next topmodel finalist Patricia van der Vliet her career is that of a supermodel. I think this girl is going to get really far. She was ranked on the list of 10 best newcomers and has contracts in major fashion cities. She has a great resumé of shows and campaigns on her name. I want to share some pictures with you of this great model.

Internship

I think that interships are probably the best way to get you into your study of interest and help you to gain pratical work experience in the field. Although I'm not going to university in within two years I'm already looking for summer internships, pre-univeristy courses and shorts courses. Some of them are Introduction to the Fashion Industry (creative 16-18 year olds) on the London College of Fashion and Fashion Journalism (creative 16-18 year olds) on the London College of Fashion. I can also do summer school in Polimoda Florence in Fashion marketing and on LIM College in New York. I just contacted four important magazines in the Netherlands to ask if it's possible to take summer internships. Hopefully I will get enough experience to study a great Fashion course in Amsterdam, London or New York, with the focus on Merchandising, Management, Marketing and Journalism. (Design is not really my thing!!)
